New Normal

New Normal week 4

Crisis reveals you, but crisis can also reset you.

The kingdom without the King not only can’t save you it will crush you. And it leads to hopelessness and emptiness

Your true identity isn’t achieved, it’s received.

Put to death (in Greek-KILL, get rid of put behind of you forever) therefore whatever belongs to your earthly nature:
Colossians 3:5

“What is an idol? It is anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God”
Tim Keller- Counterfeit Gods

What is it you have convinced yourself could you not live without?

An idol can be anything you seek to give you what only God can give

An idol is whatever you look at and say, in your heart of hearts, “If I have that, then I’ll feel my life has meaning, then I’ll know I have value, then I’ll feel significant and secure.”

What things did you look to for meaning and significance?

What things might you look to for meaning and significance?

Examples of modern day idols:
Children, Relationships, Sex, Theology, Moralism, Porn, Nationalism, Family, Comfort, Political Ideologies, Race, Radical Individualism, Approval, Money, Power, Economic Ideals…

Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
Colossians 3:6

You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
Colossians 3:7

But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
Colossians 3:8

which is being renewed in the knowledge in the image of its Creator.
Colossionas 3:10

Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
Colossians 3:11

How has the kingdom without the King crushed you?
